Thanks for the feature! Snow is a challenging element to include in a photo, mainly for light-balancing reasons. A shot including snow and bright light is almost certain to be blown out details, and/or have trouble with the white point being messed up. Now that snow is starting here in the not-quite-so-far-north, we'll see what I can do. :)

A photographer that inspires me is a well known guy. Very well know. Nonetheless, he's a wonderful photographer. Trey Ratcliff. I love his work because for one thing, it's so good. For another thing, he's a wonderful teacher with a unique style and a down to earth viewpoint.

One of our readers asked the question via email: "Why is it that the color of the reflected light [from the pupils] is red, and not green?" Well, regardless of the flash's color, the red is caused by the oxygen rich blood that is feeding your eye, and the reflected light is tinted by this blood. Now an experiment for a different day: Maybe we'll try to gel the flash to see if we could change the color to something else...maybe a blue eyed reflection? That might be fun. Anyone have insight on this?

I agree with Simon, that if it's for marketing, it makes sense. But if you're doing it to keep your photos from being stolen, don't waste your time -- it isn't hard to clone one out.

I like the change. If marketing is the reason for the watermark (and it's the only reason I agree with, really), then having your website on it makes perfect sense. I think it also looks a little cleaner, which I tend to be a fan of.

Funny, I´m dealing with the problem of having the ideas but not putting them all on paper. Photo Bucket list is something that I once tried to do it on paper but then I lost it, the other problem is that I don´t elaborate much the ideas on paper only in my memory. But I use mobilenoter and notes on my phone to write the ideas and phases on my blog. So you give me that kick I was needing to organize more my ideas.

Well, what to say .... :))) First of all of course, thank you very muich. I really feel very honored to be subjected to your critical but always inspirational analysis once again.
I am quite surprise you took this one for your analysis, where i was so proud of my blur in the foreground (and focus in the background) in another pic in this series :)) Guess the clear movement in the foreground here and your sympathy for the background texture helped a lot :)

I love this subject. In general i love to follow the light. As I say it on my flickr profile: "follow the light ... and new views will occur to you ... " . As can be seen here and can be read in your article this subject is really good to give some evidence to these thoughts. The light is playful and the dynamics of the diagonals also help quite a lot. And a bit of wind and the movement of the grass help to find some surprise. One cannot be sure about the exact focus ! I really like that !

To have attracted your attention for this pic and this subject is really a great pleasure for me. Thanks a lot !

I use a Nikon D3100---small and light. :)
I've gotta say my favorite accessory (at least for now) is my tripod.
Currently playing around with light painting and long exposures. haha

I use the D90. My favorite accessory would have to be my Sunpak tripod, because my only other accessory is a polarizing filter that I just got and haven't had a chance to use. Winning this bag would be sooo great -- would keep me from buying one in a couple weeks. :-) bookloveraz at gmail dot com
